It was built in the classical style in 1797 by the leading architect of the classicism era Stanisław Zawadzki. Adam Mickiewicz visited twice, and in later years Henryk Sienkiewicz and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. In 1970 it was taken over by the National Museum in Poznań, which carried out its renovation and opened its branch here in 1975 - the Museum of Adam Mickiewicz. Paintings, sculptures, prints and handicrafts associated with Adam Mickiewicz are collected here. Separate rooms were dedicated to Pan Tadeusz and Dziad, as well as to visitors of the palace to Mickiewicz and Sienkiewicz, Józef and Maria Chełkowski. The museum also includes the park surrounding the palace, along with Zosia's Garden and the Mickiewicz monument.
