Collegiate Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Saint. Mary Magdalene in Poznań (also under the name: Fara Poznańska) - a baroque parish church and collegiate church of St. Stanisław Bishop Martyr in Poznań, belonging to the parish Mother of Perpetual Help and St. Mary Magdalene, located at ul. Gołębia, in its southern frontage, at the outlet of ul. Świętosławska. On June 29, 2010, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, by virtue of special powers granted by Pope Benedict XVI, raised the church to the title and dignity of the minor basilica. The history of the parish church dates back to the 16th century, when the Jesuit order was brought to Poznań. In the Baroque spirit, the interior of the church is full of splendor, the nave is 27 meters high. Around there are eleven ornate chapels and interesting organs, altars and paintings. To learn more, it's worth listening to the guide. It's worth mentioning the organs - designed and built by the best European master of the late 19th century - Friedrich Ladegast from Weissenfels in Saxony. Some specialists rate the timbre of their sound higher than the more famous organs in Oliwa or Leżajsk. Every Saturday (and in the summer season every day from Monday to Saturday), at 12:15, organ concerts with great performers take place. Free admission, proceeds from concerts are dedicated to renovating the parish church. After the concerts, you can visit the church underground. In addition, in the summer, on Thursday evenings, Old Town Organ Concerts take place. There is a story of an apparition associated with the organs. Well, according to the story, sometimes it happens that while working on organs, on the balcony (which is very difficult to get to), there appears a woman unknown to someone dressed in black. It appears out of nowhere and disappears just as much. This is supposedly the spirit of a mysterious donor who looks after his gift. The catacombs are impressive, you can arrange to visit them.
