Address: ul. Jana Łaskiego 9 , 62-200 Gniezno
Gothic cathedral church located on the Lech Hill in Gniezno. In the past, the multiple coronation of Polish kings. It is currently the seat of the Archcathedral Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The building of the basilica on September 16, 1994 was entered on the list of Monuments of History. The cathedral is one of the most valuable gothic buildings of the early period of Poland's development. It was built at the end of the fourteenth century. It has characteristic soaring faith and high windows that blend in perfectly with the most important element of the cathedral. Characteristic here are the Gniezno Door, which depicts images of saints, including Saint. Wojciech, whose relics are still in one of the rooms of the temple. The cathedral is a three-nave, hall-type building with a presbytery and an ambulatory from the mid-fourteenth century. In the oldest parts of the cathedral there are many distinguished figures for the Church and Poland. In the presbytery of the cathedrals there is a baroque gilded confession, and below it an early Baroque reliquary. Behind the reliquary is the tombstone of St. Wojciech made of red marble from a medieval tomb from 1480. From the north side of the presbytery stands a gold-plated Primate's Throne from 1835, and in front of it a slightly newer gold-plated kneeler with the coat of arms of Primate Stefan Wyszyński. The main altar of the temple contains a bas-relief of St. Adalbert. The object is also perfect as a viewpoint, people who want to admire Gniezno from above can enter the Gothic belfry, from the window of which they will see the whole city.
