The church in Lusowo was built in 1244. According to the oldest documents, it was a wooden church. The creation of a parish in Lusowo on July 15, 1288 was a historical event. This is evidenced by the erection decree. The original church was dedicated to St. James the Elder. Over the years, the wooden church was destroyed and a new one had to be built. This time a burnt brick church was built, and a new temple was consecrated in 1499 by a certain Wojciech from Sochaczew, the Bishop of Poznań, the Poznań suffragan. The salary of this temple is found in the Liber Beneficiorum of Bishop Lubrański from 1510. The external appearance of the current church is the result of its expansion from 1913-1918. The niches arranged side by side, closed with ogival arches, are also located at the bottom of this facade.
