The Painting and Sculpture Gallery of the National Museum in Poznań is housed in two buildings. The eclectic headquarters from 1904 are located on the ground floor: the Gallery of Medieval Art and the Gallery of Polish Modern Art with a unique collection of coffin portraits, while on the first floor collections of Western European painting, including: Dutch paintings (including paintings by Q. Massys, J. van Cleve), Flemish (e.g. F. Snyders) and Dutch (e.g. works of J. van Goyen, S. Ruysdael, G. Hedy), Italian (paintings by S. Anguissol, A. Bronzin, G. Bellini , B. Strozzie), German from the first half of the 19th century (W. Schadov, A. Menzel, A. Böcklin, JF Overbeck) and the only collection of Spanish painting in Poland (including F. Zurbaran, J. Ribery, A Carrenia, J. Velazquez). The Poznań collection also includes some very valuable works of French masters. In the near future a collection of ancient art will be presented.
