Nadwarciański Landscape Park was established in 1995 on an area of ​​13,428 ha, within four communes: Pyzdry, Zagórów, Lądek and Rzgów. One of two landscape parks, next to the Powidz Landscape Park in the Słupca County. The park protects the post-glacial landscape with a wide river valley, the bottom of which is the Warta River. Warta, often changing its course, left numerous oxbow lakes in the bottom of the river valley. The Nadwarciański Landscape Park area was recognized as one of the 7 most valuable refuges for water and marsh birds in Poland and qualified to the most valuable ornithological areas of Europe, and in 1995 the international organization BirdLife International gave it a global rank - "Globaly Important Bird Areas".
