As befits the cradle of the Polish state, Greater Poland is a land rich in numerous monuments. Interesting exhibits can also be found in museums in Greater Poland. The most valuable monuments can be seen in Poznań, at the National Museum. The museum also has several important branches, including in Rogalin. District museums, where you can see interesting exhibitions, include in Kalisz, Konin and Piła. There are also interesting museums that focus on one particular topic. A very interesting place in Gniezno is the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State. The oldest history of Greater Poland is presented here. The Archaeological Museum in Poznań is an important institution. One of the most interesting museum objects is the Museum of the First Piasts in Lednica. There are also very interesting biographical museums in Greater Poland. In Śmiełów you can visit the Adam Mickiewicz Museum or the museum dedicated to Maria Dąbrowska in Russów. Interesting museums are also associated with the lives of former village residents. Here the most important is the National Museum of Agriculture and Agro-Food Industry in Szreniawa. Open-air museums also play an important role, including the Wielkopolska Ethnographic Park in Dziekanowice.
